The privacy and security of your personal information is extremely important to us. This privacy policy explains how and why we use your personal data, to make sure you stay informed and can be confident about giving us your information.

Your personal data (any information which identifies you, or which can be identified as relating to you personally for example name, address, phone number, email address) will be collected and used by us. It does not extend beyond details that can be used to identify you or information required to maintain your membership and keep you informed of news and events.  This information includes your name, title, address (home and/or work), email address, telephone numbers. We also keep a record of your STA education qualifications where applicable.

Why do we maintain this information?

We maintain this data because without it we would not be able to carry out the services that the STA provides to its members (in particular, we need these details in order to keep you informed about the society’s news and activities). We also use the personal data you provide to send renewal information by mail and email.  We’ll only use your personal data on relevant lawful grounds as permitted by the EU General Protection Regulation/UK Data Protection Act and Privacy of Electronic Communication Regulation.

Maintaining your personal data

Your privacy is important to us, so we’ll always keep your details secure. We use your contact details to keep in touch about the society’s news and activities.  We also use the personal data you provide to send renewal information by mail and email.  We do not share members’ personal data with third parties.

Updating your data and communication preferences

Should you wish, at some future date, for us to cease to hold your personal information, you have the right to instruct us accordingly and we will delete your information.
